Passionate, hardworking, and selfless – those are the words that some people would use to describe Daryl Simon Pecson, who has brought significant influence by being a community-based HIV screening practitioner, peer educator, and health advocate who reaches out to HIV+ clients.

Apart from being a student at San Beda University and working as a BPO professional, Pecson’s notable project includes the Juan Posi+ive Movement, a community-based organization which mainly intends to spread awareness and reinforce proper education about HIV/AIDS to the public.

Established in 2016, Juan Posi+ive Movement, through Pecson's leadership, has achieved great feats as an organization by providing education about HIV/AIDS, as well as proper treatment and care, to clients living in remote areas.

Pecson was also able to influence others to join his cause by becoming volunteers to his organization, which has since been recognized by other CBO/NGO/LGU in parts of the Philippines

To prove that his chosen advocacy means a lot to him, Pecson makes it a point that his other responsibilities would not hinder him from helping other people. After working the night shift as a call center agent, he would not go home to hit the sack and call it a day. Instead, Pecson would get his HIV home testing kits from different clinics and perform free testing to different people from different walks of life.

As someone who works closely with PLHIV, Pecson is an encouraging individual. He tells his clients who tested positive for HIV to seek treatment as soon as possible. Being a volunteer for years, he has mastered the way to deal with clients in those situations.

Moreover, he is the one who manages the JPM LGBTQ Lounge on Facebook and has provided shelter for PLHIV in Pampanga.
