The Positive Action Foundation Philippines, Inc. (PAFPI) founded on September 1998 is a non-sectarian, non-profit, non-governmental organization. It was founded in response to the need for PLHIV care and support. It has evolved from a structure of a volunteer group into a foundation working as an umbrella for care support responses for PLHIV in the Philippines.

PAFPI envisions the empowerment of PLHIV and their affected families to live a normal, happy and productive life in the mainstream of a supportive society, to contribute to the national response in HIV prevention, treatment, care and support for PLHIVs, to complement care and support of other NGOs, and advocate and lobby for accessible services for PLHIV.

The Foundation organizes different activities and programs in order to realize their vision. It provides HIV testing services as well as one-on-one peer counseling (pretesting and post testing). They conduct home and hospital visitation for PLHIVs, and weekly hospital and center based feeding program. They created a “Positive Speakers Bureau”, a pool of PLHIV speakers who share their knowledge and experience in programs and events. They also established a temporary shelter and drop in centers in Manila. The temporary shelter has served PLHIVs for almost 20 years.

PAFPI also refers their clients for medical and hospitalization, financial help and livelihood training assistance to their partners. They provide clients self-empowerment trainings, learning group sessions and support group meetings. Being an organization composed of volunteers, it is accepting application for local and international internships.

The organization participated in international events such as International AIDS candlelight Memorial and World AIDS Day. In 2016, the Foundation became one of the beneficiaries of the Ms. Universe pageant held in Manila.

Its accomplishments includes spearheading the successful access to generic ARV treatment in the Philippines, actively participated in first, second, and third National Consultative and consensus meeting for Filipinos Living With HIV in 2001, 2003 and 2009 respectively. They also provided the organizational development of PLHIV support groups.

PAFPI get its funding through international partners like the APHEDA (Australian People for Health Education And development abroad) that focuses on Migrant workers and MAC AIDS fund for nutritional support for PLHIV. The foundation ensures its sustainability through projects such as Coinbank Donation and Positive speakers Bureau on HIV education for OFWs.

To date, Most of PAFPIs client and beneficiaries became productive working on treatment hubs and became trainers as well as giving testimonies on television and social media.
